I have been thinking the past few days of one of Brendan's friends-sister. Hope you followed that. It is all the talk right now by kids, parents, everyone, that this young girl (only 14) is having to grow up way too fast because of a decision her young teen mind made. Yes, she is pregnant. Now this girl is being forced to be an adult and make an adult decision with adult consequences at the age of 14. I am praying so hard for her and her family.
Then there is the selfish part of the equation--how do I explain to my young children how this happens to a girl of 14. So far, I don't think they know about it (a benefit of homeschooling Brendan), but they soon will. As I said at the beginning this is a friend of Brendan's. It breaks my heart that now many other kids have to grow up a bit too-just to deal with the situation in their minds. I pray that we never have to deal with it in a more real instance with our children. I hope they will make good decisions and wait.

So I look over at my 12 year old who doesn't even want to learn how to use the stove or blender because they make him nervous. I just can't imagine him as a daddy in two years.
Is locking them up until we arrange his marriage an option? Sometimes it seems no matter what we try to teach him we are still just uncool parents that don't know anything about anything...
I've got a separate email for you sometime soon as well.
