Nothing Exciting

It has been a while since I posted. I guess that is just because we have been busy, but not with anything really exciting. Just the normal day to day stuff. We are always running. Now we are starting to think about our upcoming move and trip to Disney World and all the things we need to accomplish for both of those. I'm so excited about moving back to the states, but WOW! do I dislike the actual moving part. Moving overseas is just so complicated. The big thing we are "stressing" about and trying to figure out is the car situation. In order to have our car in at Disney--which will be a lifesaver while there and to be able to drive to Kansas instead of fly--we have to ship it 2 months ahead of our move from here. That means we will be stuck with only Shane's car for 2 months. If you don't know, he drives a Fiat Panda that is the tinest car--it seats 5 uncomfortably--and yes we have 6 in our family. It is also a very unreliable car. Shane is frequently pushed through the gate on post because the car dies when he has to stop for ID checks, and then it won't start again. If should be a really fun 2 months--oh and did I mention it's right in the middle of baseball season when we will have 4 playing on 4 teams and have to be running every day...... Oh the drama of our lives....

I hate the car thing. We only have one car here right now, and I'm not even looking forward to buying a car when Norb comes home!

Which reminds me... I REALLY need to get my car serviced...

Hey Laurie! I hear ya on the whole car thing, we had a problem there too. No sports for us at the time but it was winter and I was pregnant. We ended up using the car that we had given the Flemings once Mike deployed. Would it maybe be easier to rent a one way once you get to Disney and then return in KS (or ST Louis if the car comes in there)? Maybe you could borrow or buy a second cheapy car in Italy for a bit? If people start to PCS early in the summer you could find a deal maybe. Do you have a second car in the states or will you be buying one? It's all so hard! I'm excited about the move this time and when I tell Darren all I still want to get done, he just says "this is a CONUS move honey, it will be easy!", and I think he's right. This will be our first CONUS to CONUS in over 7 years. Hang in there, you will find something that will work!

You know if we were just going to be buying a car when we got stateside we wouldn't have an issue, but Shane has this idea that since we will be living on post for at least a year he won't need a car....
That's where all the trouble comes in--do we want a car here or there when we only have one??? sigh.

Oh the car thing. Nothing like the stress of one car to make the move all the more exciting! I was just homebound the last few weeks, it sucked. Is there anyone who would lend you a car for the more important things, like mass etc?..
We have gotten by with only one car since we moved here. Its been dicey at times, but we manage, but I only currently have two kids, and neither of them are into extra stuff yet...Dom's bicycle was a great investment. how far out from post do you live again? Is the bus just way too inconvient?
