Wrestling
Brendan competed in his first wrestling tournament. He had a good time and now knows exactly what its all about. He wrestled 4 times, won 1--score 7-2, lost one by points (didn't remember the score), and got pinned twice. Like I said though, he now knows what it's all about and he is ready to hit his practices hard and improve for the next one. We will see how the rest of the season goes.

Blessings of Having My Husband Home!
I have really been enjoying having our family all together this year. After having Shane deployed it is such a nice change and I try to remember what a blessing it is. Today is one example of that blessing. While Shane was gone, when one of the kids had an activity, all the other children had to come along or I had to miss it. This sometimes was a huge deal--smaller children don't always sit well at older children's activities. And I would feel guilty at not being there for the activity if I chose to opt out of it. Today is Brendan's first wrestling tounament. He is really excited about it, but it is also 1 1/2 hours away. And for those of you who don't know, wrestling is all about waiting--first you show up and weigh in--then there is nothing to do but wait until your first match. Then you sit and wait more for your next match. And depending on how you are doing this can go on all day. Some boring times for the wrestler, but even more so for siblings who have to wait. So enters my blessing....Shane. He took Brendan to his tournament and I kept the other kids at home. Brendan gets to have a parent there supporting him and the other kids aren't bored out of their minds. The only downside--I dont' get to see him wrestle this time :( But, knowing there will be closer tournaments other weeks makes it easier. Good luck Brendan!!! I love you and I know you will do great!!!

Dillan's 4th Birthday!!
I cannot believe my "baby" is going to be four on Tuesday!! He is turning into such a "big" little guy. We had his first party with friends this year and he was just eccstatic!! He chose dragons as his theme, which kind of surprised me, but he was adamant that it be dragons. And not knights--just dragons. So, Mommy had to be a bit creative as there isn't much party stuff that is dragons with no knights. All in all it was a fun day and he was really happy.
Enjoy the photos!

Weekend of Girl Stuff
This weekend was a weekend for the girls. On Friday, the Girl Scouts had an overnight at the Great Wolf Lodge. Katie went with her troop on her own, but because Meghan is a Daisy, I spent the night with her. We had a good time. We spent a couple of hours in the water park--Meghan loved swimming and splashing with her friends. Then they had a dance in the lobby--100s of girls were there and it was craziness, but it was fun. Then we had pizza and hit the sack--got up in the AM and headed for home because we had to prep for Meg's birthday party.
As I said we rushed home to prep for our little girl's birthday party. Her theme was Fancy Nancy so we were super fancy for this party. It was a fun time for all!

Crossfit
I got so excited last night. My former CrossFit buddy messaged me and let me know that they are starting a Mommy CrossFit class here at 9:00 on Wed. and Fri. I drop Dillan off at preschool at 8:30 so this is perfect!!! I went this morning. I knew I missed it, but I had no idea how much I missed it until I started working out. Wow!! I'm going to be sore tomorrow--my muscles were shaking--such an awesome feeling!! I will definitely be continuing this!!! CrossFit Rocks!!!

One to remember....
Dillan has been coming up with all kinds of stories of the things he has done lately. This morning he informed me that he was a boxer and got punched in the arm and knocked down--oh and by the way--I took him there and I saw it. Funny I don't remember....
He has had many of these, but so far my favorite is the one that came last night....
"Mom we were driving to the store and you took a wrong turn and we went to Elmo's World!!!"
Where does he come up with this stuff????

Happy New Year!!!
Welcome to 2010!!!
I don't really like the idea of resolutions--they just seem to get broken--but I do like setting goals. I have things that I work on all year round and the New Year is a good time to tweak those goals. I'm not going to share all the specifics, but my goals this year are really focused on God and family. I want to be a better child of God, wife to my husband, and mother to my children.
My secondary goals I will share....
they are focused more on fitness and health. After beginning the running adventure, then slacking off here more than I wanted to, I have really seen how much I enjoy it. I have seen the benefits to how it makes me feel, how my body reacts...more energy, less pain... and of course the side benefit of how it makes me look. I have also realized that I'm one of those people that needs to have something I'm working toward...so my goals involve races to keep me motivated. In 2010, I'm going to run at least one 5K (maybe more of those--they are really fun), one 10K, and another 1/2 marathon. I have to look into races--the whens and wheres--to see which I'm doing when, but all 3 wil be done before 2011!! :)
I also plan to hit the weights again--that really shapes the body and makes me feel great! Again--still working on the exact plan.
And finally, we have been on the quest to eat healthier, no high fructose corn syrup in this house, but I need to continue on that quest. My goal there is just to get as close to eating whole, natural foods as I can. I don't need all the junk.
And here is a goal--not directly related to the above...I'm going to get back to blogging again..I miss it. I want to try and put up a post at least once a week. And maybe even document how the above items are going.
Well, enough seriousness. We had a great time ringing in the New Year with some of our best friends. We spent the night talking, laughing, drinking, dancing, and playing rock band. It was a wonderful time. I didn't take a bunch of pictures, some little boy who won't be named....name starts with a D...broke my camera part way through the night...but here are the ones that I did get :) Enjoy!!
