Pretty productive day so far...

And now I need a bit of a break. Let's see I got the big ones off to school, then it was time the little ones got up so we had breakfast. I got some laundry started and hung out on the line--call me crazy, but I started hanging laundry over here- in Italy everyone does even more so than Germany! and I love the way it all smells and stuff. Then I got another load into the dryer (nope don't hang everything) I got my bedroom all straightened up and linens changed (fun) Dillan went down for a nap and Meghan and I did some preschool stuff--numbers and stories. Meghan and I had lunch--Dillan's still sleeping--and then she and I dusted and swept my room. I did a thorough dusting which it needed soooo bad--you would think I would have more time to do that stuff being home all day and now I'm taking a break and doing this while Meghan is watching Robin Hood for her rest time--boy is that enough boring details about my day??
So Shane gave me this paper last night to fill out for Emergency Notification and Casualty Assistance for when he deploys. I keep looking at it and I am having the hardest time actually doing it. I know he needs it before he deploys and I know we have to do it just in case, but just the thought of it turns my stomach. I like living in denial much better--he isn't really going right??
I'm trying to work out a new schedule in my life so I can get everything done that needs done--there is something to be said for the way women used to schedule their days Laundry-mon Shopping -tues Baking-etc. It's just so hard to find what is going to work for us. It's tough when we never know if Shane will be here or not and then with kids' activities and everything else we do during a day finding time to order out the chores is tough. It's a work in progress... I did write out some stuff last night and I'm trying to keep to it this week and actually keeping notes about what is working and what isn't--maybe we will get it right this time. Oh and now that Meghan isn't attending Asilo (Italian preschool) anymore I have bought a curriculum to start homeschooling her too. I needed one more thing to do so anyway I will keep you all posted on whether I can actually get it all together
Oh and I'm not going to put pictures on here every day but I have to share this one. While I was cleaning upstairs, Meghan decided she wanted to be a tiger....

Well I hear my dryer beeping at me so I guess it's back to work.

Well...

I got quite a bit done--the entire downstairs is good-except for needing dusting. And the kitchen floor needs mopped again--we did it yesterday, but the kids got in there and...well it needs it again! AAAHHH! But I got everything picked up and swept, the bathrooms cleaned and some laundry done.Oh and I cleaned the storage room--that was a bit of a project, not real bad, but Meghan had gotten in there and dragged stuff out!
Shane didn't make it home by 5--actually it's 9:40 and he still isn't here yet! We went and met him for dinner though so at least we got to see him. Hopefully he is going to have tomorrow off--we shall see.
The kids got the upstairs all picked up except for a bit of sprucing in Katie's room--which she can't often do because of Dillan napping (sometimes it's not good when they share.) Oh and Meghan's room looks like a tornado went through it--oh yeah it did--Meghan!!! I guess I know what I will be doing tomorrow.
Katie had a Thinking Day ceremony for Daisies today. Each troop presented a different country. Hers was Australia--they said G'day mate and sang the Kookaburra song. It was cute! Then they went around to the other troops and tasted food from each country and got a "stamp in their passport." She had a lot of fun.
Here's a picture of her by a kangaroo...

And here is a picture of Meghan in my boots! She is so silly!

I guess that's about it for today. I will check in again soon.

Your girls are so beautiful! I miss them ever so much! I need to do a full cleaning on my house too. (But mine won't take near as long because I have a 1 bedroom and no kids). I almost NEVER blog on it, but here's a link to my MySpace page. I doubt that it will be that much interest to you, but here it is anyway. http://www.myspace.com/juliesigns

Thought I would give this a try

Hello everyone! I have been thinking about starting a blog for a while so I thought ok let's take the plunge and give it a try. Maybe it will hold be accountable to a few things that I wish I was doing and am not if I am letting you all look into my daily life and also I can keep you up to date on the kids and Italy and whatever else is going on.
Today is not very exciting. The kids and I are getting ready to do a big clean of the house--oohh does it ever need it. We haven't been able to see Shane much--working like a madman--and today he should be home by like 5 and then I think he has tomorrow off so it would be nice if we don't have messes and laundry hanging over our heads so we can have time to play.
Short blog today--will update you on how things are going later.
