We still don't have orders, but we are getting to the "we are really moving" stage. I'm trying to do some planning and sorting and figuring out what goes in which shipment. The big thing right now is deciding when we want to ship the car--and when we want to ship our stuff. Overseas moves are so fun!
So all of you out there (the 2 who read this:)) who have done this--give me your suggestions. What did you do that worked great? And what would you do differently now that you know? Yeah--we have done this before, but ugh! I am having a hard time remembering...

First - don't trust your estimated delivery dates they give you! Did I tell you they changed ours by over a month on the paperwork and never told us? I think someone was covering their backsides due to the late delivery....
We shipped the van early (and it was still on just about the last day for delivery), and then our final days in country we borrowed someone's car to get all that "other" stuff done. See if anyone has something!
I agree on the whole delivery dates thing, always a loophole it seems. That said, I would ship as early as possible because you can borrow furniture and lending closet stuff for 60 days on that end but there's no furniture on this end. We didn't actually ever have living or dining room furniture to begin with so we had to buy that when we got here. That was a bit difficult because we had no car. We shipped our van 7 weeks before we left and it did arrive the same day we did BUT "due to rough oceanic storms, it sustained severe damage". That's right, we woke up our first morning here and Darren and Matthew and Natalie all had the flu (delusional and all) and I got a phone call asking my permission to have the van towed for a damaged estimate. It's a good idea to make sure that the blue book value on your shipping document is accurate, not that I think you'll need it but better safe than sorry.
Anyway, my advice is to keep only what you really need to the end and ship the rest early. We shipped our HHG two months before we left and they were delivered 8 days after we got here. The upside to moving when you are is that you can ship all the heavy clothes and holiday stuff (including heavy china and pottery) and you wouldn't have been needing them. We did also pay for a few nights extra in the towers and it was very worth it. It gave us time to clean the house w/o the big rush and especially in good weather it makes the car situation a bit easier.
It will all work out and it is a bit of a logistical nightmare, but you'll be fine, promise!
